My Under 5Ofsted successThe team at Stoke Damerel Pre-school in Plymouth are celebrating after achieving ‘outstanding’ in all areas following its latest Ofsted inspection. The inspector noted that children have “a wonderful time at this pre-school” and praised the staff for ensuring htat all children feel safe and make “excellent progress”. Kerrie Robson, manager at the setting, said: “We consider ourselves to be a family and we love what we have achieved as a team. We will continue to be outstanding!”Double celebrationThe team at Alonim Pre-school, based in north London, has celebrated the setting’s 40th anniversary, as well as an ‘outstanding’ rating in its latest Ofsted inspection. The inspector noted how children “flourish” at the setting and complimented the “remarkably attentive, caring and approachable” staff. The team celebrated its 40th anniversary with a special cake and were joined by previous head teachers as well as the deputy mayor of Barnet.
Recycled ChristmasChildren at ACE Nursery School in Cambridge celebrated Christmas by constructing a recycled Christmas tree. They used a selection of cardboard boxes of decreasing sizes, managing to create a huge tree, more than two metres tall. They then decorated the tree using paint, milk bottle tops, paper chains and tissue paper.Lending libraryThe Portland Nurseries Group, based in Huddersfield, has created an outdoor learning library to support its local community. Parents can grab a book when dropping-off or picking-up their children, with resources available for nurseries, babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers. All items are available for free and families are encouraged to donate items to create a greater range of reading materials for families.Ofsted successChildren and staff at Round House Pre-school in St Neots, Cambridgeshire, are celebrating achieving a ‘good’ rating in their latest Ofsted inspection. Manager Lyndsey commented: “We have a committed and friendly team that work hard to provide high quality care, a safe environment and good learning opportunities for the children. I am extremely proud of the team’s hard work and dedication through some challenging times.”
Inspection celebrationThe team at Acorn Early Years in Stony Stratford and Milton Keynes are celebrating after receiving ‘Good’ and ‘Outstanding’ ratings in their first Ofsted reports. The inspectors noted that the settings provide “excellent first-hand experiences” to help children learn about their local community and make “impressive progress” in their communication and language skills.
