On Wednesday 13 March, Jane Williams, the community champion from Morrisons in Rubery, surprised the children from Jellybabies Nursery and Pre-School with an Easter egg for each of the 22 children, very kindly donated by Morrisons!
The children were delighted to receive their egg from Jane, described by Jellybabies manager Jaqueline Wilson as “a fantastic community champion”.
Jaqueline also praised the supermarket and its customers for their generosity: “We would like to thank Morrisons, as well as all the shoppers who also donated eggs.”
Springfield Bees Pre-School in Springfield, Chelmsford, recently celebrated some exciting news – a well-deserved Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ grade.
Manager Carla Deluca said: “We’re delighted with this accolade, especially as our deputy manager – Sophie O’Sullivan – received a Highly Commended Award at last year’s Nursery World Awards.
"Sophie was also nominated at the Essex Teaching Awards in 2023 and was named Essex Early Years Foundation Stage Practitioner of the Year, so the Ofsted judgement was the icing on the cake!”
For this year’s Comic Relief, Jellybabies Nursery & Pre-School’s three-and-four-year-olds learned about the organisation’s work with the Kiryandongo refugee settlement in Uganda and how the money raised from Red Nose Day will help these families.
The younger children participated in activities based on being kind and helping others to reflect the values of the day!
On Friday 15 March, the children and staff also came to nursery dressed in pyjamas. The setting also held a cake sale, supported by parents from Nursery Pre-School and birth-to-5 feeder group, which raised £65 for Comic Relief!
