Yeladenu Preschool is absolutely delighted to have been awarded Millie’s Mark for the third time! They first achieved it in July 2017, were re-awarded in Feb 2021, and have now been successful once again in January 2024!
This is a fantastic achievement showing dedication to the health and safety of all children in Yeladenu staff’s care.
Manager Helen Style said: “From the day we opened our doors in 2004, we have recognised the importance of having every member of staff – whether educator, security or administrator – trained in PFA. Having Millie’s Mark ensures that we are always on the ball with first aid and therefore more aware of potential risks and near misses.”
Millie’s Mark is named after Millie Thompson, who died after choking on food at a nursery in 2012 when she was just nine months old.
Millie’s parents, Dan and Joanne Thompson, founded Millie’s Trust and have successfully campaigned for changes to first aid requirements for early years providers.
