Tysoe Children’s Group (TCG) recently celebrated a huge milestone – its 20th birthday! First opening its doors in April 2004, Tysoe Nursery is housed in a refurbished fire station in a village of the same name, operating as part of the local community and surrounding villages for two decades now.
Yvonne Dillon, nursery manager, who has been looking after children for over 17 years at TCG, said: “We are excited to be celebrating our twentieth birthday this year, which is such a huge achievement. Many of the little ones that joined us in 2004 will now be in their twenties. It’s a huge testament to the care, love and support provided by staff here that many fondly remember their time at the nursery.
TCG will be hosting a celebratory event for all children (past and present), their families, staff and the wider local community at the Old Fire Station, Tysoe, on 7 July 2024. Follow the nursery via Instagram and Facebook (@tysoechildrensgroup) for further updates or check the website: tysoechildrensgroup.co.uk.
On Wednesday 10 April, the children at Jellybabies Nursery and Pre-School celebrated dedicated volunteer Darren’s birthday with a fantastic pirate party!
Darren, who has been a much-loved volunteer at the nursery for 12 years, helped to plan the party with his carer. Everyone got the chance to learn how to talk like a pirate and played the different pirate roles of pirates on ships, while also learning about life on the sea, walking the plank, and sword fights.
What a great way for the children to learn about the wider world while having lots of fun!
Jellybabies’ manager, Jaqueline Wilson, said: “It’s important to celebrate the hard work of our volunteers – and this is one way for staff and children at Jellybabies to say ‘thank you’ to Darren for all his time and support!”
Staff and children at Kidorable Preschool and Childcare Services in Braintree, Essex, are delighted to have been awarded ‘Good’ in all areas following an Ofsted visit in late March!
The Ofsted report opens by describing the setting as “a warm, welcoming environment” and then goes on to highlight Kidorable’s “thoughtful procedures” and “the good use of resources” in helping children to learn about their differences. Staff were praised for their positive attitudes, confident planning skills, the progress of all children, and commitment to continuous improvement. Parents, meanwhile, were noted as speaking “highly” of the setting.
Christine Rogers, Kidorable manager, said: “I am over the moon with our latest Ofsted report. The girls in my team work so hard every day to provide a lovely environment in which the children can thrive, both indoors and out, so it was lovely to see all their hard work noticed!”
