PROMOTIONSpotlight: the Alliance’s CPD training collectionThe Alliance has launched a new set of pre- recorded CPD sessions, with unlimited access available for three months from purchase
The key to staying at the top of your field, whatever sector you work in, is to continue down the learning path. This is perhaps truer for education than many other sectors, particularly the early years education sector: the first five years of life are fundamental for setting the stage for personal growth and development, impacting the way the brain functions.

And, with guidance, frameworks, and curriculum expectations regularly being updated to incorporate new techniques, research, knowledge, and greater understanding of new theories as well as how they impact the sector, continuous CPD is crucial.

The crux of CPD for early years teams is that carving out the time and space for training can be difficult. This is why the Early Years Alliance has launched a new range
of pre-recorded CPD sessions, covering a wide range of early years topics to support providers seeking accessible, flexible training.

The new CPD Spotlight Collections each consist of a bundle of individual Spotlight sessions on a specific early years topic or theme. These pre-recorded sessions, ranging from 30- to 45-minutes, can be used in both individual and group settings, and are ideal for internal staff training sessions, staff meetings, and new starter inductions.

Alongside each Spotlight session, educators and settings will also be able to access additional resources to encourage them to reflect on the content of each session:

  • A reflection sheet that can be used to take notes or reflect during ‘pause for thought’ moments as part of the session

  • An impact evaluation sheet to allowing educators to reflect on and evaluate what they have learned from the recording, highlighting any aims and objectives they wish to focus on going forward or identify areas of further interest

  • An action plan to collate any identified objectives and next steps, either individually or as a team

“Through our CPD Spotlight Collections, we hope it will make it easier for educators to keep on top of early years requirements and guidance, while also providing an excellent opportunity to facilitate group discussions and learning on a range of topics, including Ofsted and the EYFS. We look forward to as many people as possible benefitting From this affordable, flexible and fun way of learning and keeping up to date with their professional development.”
