TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
The Alliance’s Richard Knight explains why CPD is essential to early years practice and how the Alliance – now a member of the CPD Certification Service – can help you
Richard works as an early years development manager at the Alliance, supporting families and educators.
Popular Virtual Classroom, Insight and Connect sessions are delivered with the needs of the learner and flexibility in mind, adapted according to legislation updates, and take place in different time slots that make it easier for you find sessions that suit you.
All of this, why? Because we believe that CPD is the best way to inform and integrate truly revolutionary practice in the early years. Here at the Alliance, we believe everything you and your team are looking for is included in the comprehensive training we have available.
Life working in early education is joyful and a privilege but also very busy and, because we care, it can be challenging. As educators and managers, we are devoted to working in partnership with families and other professionals, and passionate about giving children and young people the best possible start in life.
The ever-changing early years landscape and the ongoing challenges in the sector have made it more important than ever to keep our knowledge and skills up to date so we’re able to respond to the needs of our service users and join the fight to be seen as the education professionals we are.
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) plays a vital role in motivating and inspiring truly reflective, impactful early years practice, enhancing learning opportunities for little ones and helping to improve the futures of the children we work with every day. An added bonus is that it helps to deliver positive Ofsted inspection outcomes, too!
Designing and delivering training is a real passion for colleagues at the Alliance – and reflection, quality improvement and self-evaluation processes are vital for the evolution and sustained quality of the training the Alliance offers. To demonstrate this commitment to CPD, the Alliance has become a member of The CPD Certification Service.
This means all Alliance-developed Virtual Classrooms, training workshops, Insights, EYA Learn modules, face-to-face events, and CPD Spotlight recordings have gone through a rigorous external assessment and accreditation exercise, and are now fully CPD certified. The CPD Certification Service is internationally recognised with member universities, government departments and other academic institutions spanning over 100 countries.
Becoming CPD certified provides a further opportunity for the Alliance to formally showcase its wide range of training opportunities with an added qualitative benchmark. The CPD quality mark reflects the core beliefs and standards the Alliance likes to promote, and gives significant professional development value for early years colleagues across the sector, striving to remain the ‘go to’ training provider for many.
With the autumn term now in full swing, it’s the perfect time to plan your early years training and CPD for the academic year ahead. The Alliance can support you with this by revealing an exciting strand of half-day in-person events titled CPD for You – a brand-new way to connect with us and each other!
The first event on Monday 22 October 9.30am -1pm is being held in Wakefield West Yorkshire. CPD for You: Behaviour Matters looks at all things behaviour with an aim to enable educators to begin feeling confident in understanding and supporting children’s behaviour.
During this CPD certified event, attendees can network with peers and join interactive workshops led by Alliance experts focusing on the care and education delivered to children every day. Themes of the workshops include supporting the child’s family to understand behaviour and consideration for how all behaviour is a means to communicate.
