Children at Jellybabies Nursery and Pre-school in Rednal have taken part in a two-week Disney-themed physical play activity as part of the Change4Life campaign. The 10-minute campaign encourages children to get active in short bursts to help them reach the recommended 60 minutes a day. The children played games based on Captain America and Toy Story and took copies home to enjoy with their families.
The team at Portland Nurseries, a chain based in Kirklees, has helped long-time staff member Samantha Warburton celebrate her 25th year at the group. Samantha originally joined Portland Nurseries as an educator and has since moved into several roles including manager and forest school leader. She is now a HR and finance manager.
The team at Early Birds Nursery in Cornwall celebrated Children’s Mental Health Week in February by supporting children to explore their feelings and express themselves in creative ways. They spent lots of time outdoors in the garden, which has a positive impact for staff as well as children.
Children at Laindon Nursery in Essex enjoyed listening to The Colour Monster story, which helped them to talk about their feelings and emotions. They also looked at emotion eggs and talked about the different emotions shown and considered what faces they could pull to show their own emotions.
