Insuring your baby and toddler group
Does your insurance cover all your requirements as a business? Here, we look at the Alliance’s new insurance for baby and toddler groups
Following feedback from our members, we’ve decided to update our insurance offer for baby and toddler groups. We know that some groups provide sessions across multiple locations simultaneously, some groups employ multiple members of staff and some operate from a range of different types of venue such as schools, nurseries and community centres. Larger baby and toddler groups such as this will need different insurance than our smaller ‘stay and play’ group members.
To recognise the different types of setting within our baby and toddler members, we have created new insurance packages that is designed to meet the needs of these different types of early years provider.
Why do I need insurance?
Even in the best-run early years provision, accidents can happen, and problems can arise. Providers need insurance to protect their setting in case:
- a member of staff or volunteer makes a claim for injury
- a child is hurt your property is damaged you’re a victim of theft
Is our new baby and toddler insurance right for you?
Our new baby and toddler insurance could be right for your group if:
- children in your group are generally aged four years and under
- all children are accompanied by an adult
The new package covers…
- employers liability up to £10 million public liability up to £5 million personal accident up to £20,000 setting money up to £250,000 accidental damage crossed cheques £750 cash
- personal possessions during sessions up to £300 personal money of staff during sessions up to £150
- business Interruption Insurance up to £100,000
- ability to hold sessions at multiple venues, simultaneously. After 10 venues, a referral to RSA is needed.
- ability to host sessions within nurseries, schools, church halls, community centres
- ability to have multiple team leaders hosting the sessions
Insuring with the Alliance
Our service includes expert advice, instant cover, low excesses on all claims and optional extensions to cover. The Alliance has supported early years providers for more than 50 years. We work in partnership with Royal Sun Alliance (RSA) to provide a suite of insurance packages tailored to you.
We can be flexible and amend or extend our cover bandings to meet your individual provision’s circumstances and requirements. We also offer monthly direct debits to spread the cost.
