Richard works as an early years development manager at the Alliance, supporting families and educators.

Life working in early education is both joyful and a privilege, but also very busy, and because we care, a real challenge at times. As educators and managers, we are devoted to working in partnership with families and other professionals, and passionate about giving children and young people the best possible start in life.

The ever-changing early years landscape and challenges we continue to face in the sector have made it more important than ever to keep our knowledge and skills up to date so we’re able to respond to the needs of our families and other service users, joining the fight to be seen as the professionals we are.

Continuous Professional Development (CPD) plays a vital role in motivating and inspiring reflective early years practice and enhancing learning opportunities for children. Not only does it help deliver positive Ofsted inspection outcomes, but it improves the life chances and outcomes for the children we work with every day.

Training ethos and opportunities

The Alliance has been a trusted provider of high-quality early years and early childhood training for over 30 years, delivering training on all aspects of early years provision – including regulatory requirements, best practice and preparation for inspection. We offer everything from professional development workshops, webinars and networking events through to full and relevant level 3 and 5 qualifications and apprenticeships.

Our popular Virtual Classrooms, Insights and Connect sessions are delivered with the needs of the learner and flexibility in mind. We’re confident that you and your team will find what you are looking for within our comprehensive training offer.

Designing and delivering bespoke in-house training for individual teams and partners is a huge part of the Alliance’s work, and we pride ourselves on developing materials and resources for all types of providers, including members and local authority colleagues.
