The team at Bright Little Stars Nursery in Harrow, London are celebrating after achieving a gold in the Mayor of London’s Healthy Early Years awards. The scheme recognises early years providers achievements in supporting children’s health, wellbeing and development. The nursery is amongst the first 10 settings in the borough to be awarded gold status.
The team at Brightfields Pre-school in Farcet, Peterborough are celebrating after receiving a ‘good’ in their latest Ofsted inspection. The inspector commented on how children engage with the setting’s outdoor space and adapt their environment by setting up logs and planks for obstacle courses and praised staff’s engagement with parents.
Jellybabies Nursery and Pre-school in Rednal has celebrated the 86th birthday of their volunteer Brian Kite. Brian has been volunteering at the setting for 29 years, welcoming every child as they arrive in the morning at 8.30 and greeting them with a self-registration card about that week’s theme.
Highburton Playgroup in Huddersfield is celebrating after achieving ‘outstanding’ in its latest Ofsted inspection for the third inspection in a row. The group has now been rated ‘outstanding’ since 2008. The inspector commented on how “safe and secure” children feel at the setting and the “highly effective” partnerships the team have with parents.
Children at Roundhouse Pre-school in St Neots were delighted to welcome some new pets to the setting. After reading Stick man by Julia Donaldson, the team introduced the children to stick insects and enjoyed watching them hatch and start to grow, learning about life cycles and how to care for them.
The team at Bright Little Stars in Watford and Mill Hill raised more than £800 for Macmillan Cancer support by hosting a coffee morning for parents and staff. Both nurseries have seen firsthand the great work that Macmillan does and were grateful for all donations as well as the chance to chat with parents at the event.
Children at Yeladenu Pre-school in Muswell Hill, London, have been visiting a nearby allotment to help the owner tend to the fruit and vegetables. They have been lucky enough to dig up carrots, pick some grapes and tomatoes and share and eat the items back at the pre-school. The children look forward to each visit and talk about the activities with glee!
