Welcome to the October 2022 issue of Under 5. With the colder weather well on its way, this issue brings lots of ideas for staying active and keeping warm in the coming weeks.
The Infant & Toddler Forum has shared ideas for providing nutritious meals that help keep children warm (page 16), while we’ve also also heard from Alliance quality and standards manager Melanie about how children’s diet can be affected by their behaviour and habits (page 26).
This month also saw a small change to the way employers can verify their employees’ right to work in the UK after some temporary measures introduced during the Covid-19 pandemic came to an end. To make sure you’re up to date, we’ve got a handy guide to the current rules from the team at Law-Call (page 24)
The coming weeks will also see the start of fireworks season in the UK, with many
people celebrating Diwali and Guy Fawkes Night: we’ve shared some tips to help keep children safe (page 19). Many families will also be celebrating Halloween at the end of this month. We’ve got some activity ideas for exploring the theme in an age-appropriate way (page 28).
As ever, please do keep sharing your news and update with us for My Under 5 – you
