Children at Marlborough Pre-school in Upminster celebrated the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with a street party in their playground. The children made their own crowns, table decorations, flags and bunting to decorate while parents hosted a themed cake sale to fundraise for the setting.
Jellybabies Nursery and Pre-school in Rednal learned about the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and made their own crowns to celebrate. They also designed their own family coat of arms, made London-themed collages and jubilee bunting. Families were also invited to join the setting for a lunch and parade with children dressed as royalty.
WUFA Charity Pre-school and After School Club in Woodstock invited the Duke of Marlborough to tea to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee. The children made themed cupcakes, flags and bunting to help celebrate and enjoyed a high tea with their guests. Children were also presented with a teddy bear each, presented by the Duke himself.
To mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, the children at ACE Nursery School in Cambridge decided to create their own post box topper. They used an old bed sheet, painted and decorated in red, white and blue, using bottle tops, buttons, and other bits and bobs. Then the children helped to tie the topper to the postbox outside the nursery with pride!
Families at Kester Pre-school in St Neots, Cambridgeshire, joined the setting for a special Father’s Day breakfast. Dads, grandads and uncles were invited for a breakfast of bacon sandwiches and the children had a great time showing their families around the setting and showing off what they had been doing.
St Mildred’s Baby and Toddler Group based in Lee, London, were able to enjoy creative and imaginative play to celebrate the Alliance’s annual week of play thanks to a generous donation from Lego. The setting was given a selection of Duplo blocks to play with to help support children’s learning.
